May 12 - 10 questions and 10 answers on Power of Pop's POP 10 .. what do Denis Johnson, space travel, The Monkees and Alain Delon have in common?

April 26 - nice review of Burn Up and Shine from Ethan at Berkeley Place who thinks the gladshots should be more famous .. "clean pop with shiny harmonies and choruses that are instantly familiar" .. thanks Ekko!

April 20 - Revolt has Mike on with a Guest Editorial about recording "Burn Up and Shine" at Headgear with John, Scott, TVOR steam machines and effect boxes .. and Mazzy .. "Headgear has a studio dog named Mazzy who is the mellowest dog in the world. Mazzy sleeps on the couch while everyone is blasting music really loud .. sometimes if Mazzy gets up off the coach and walks out of the room during overdubs the musicians get all paranoid and think Mazzy doesn't like it. (Duuuude, you're reading waaay too much into it!!)"

April 19 - Cerulean's Love of Music picks "He Was Gone" as a Song That Might Otherwise Pass You By .. Lola writes "It starts out quietly...stealthily... Keep listening, though, 'cause this song kicks into some major gear around the one minute mark. [Debbie's] voice suddenly becomes a singer's dream: soaring, clear and strong. She has the kind of magnetism that calibrates the listener's feelings to her own. By the time the song's over, I've joined the call, too. I'm wandering down imagined London streets, calling out in the fog for a lost love... The contrast of the earlier, slower part of the song really highlights her glorious, impassioned voice and the energy of the music playing"

April 13 - Gladshot is "Featured Artist of the Week" on The Frontloader .. Swapmeet Louie writes "I've spun their album quite a bit since getting my hands on it and have been planning to write a piece on them for quite some time - finally the time has come" .. thanks Swapmeet!

April 1 - "I Can't Tell" live on the WTSR Concert Series

Dec 18 - Fab Friends video just went up on Adbusters .. the gladshots are humbled and honored

Dec 12 - WLUR (Washington & Lee) wrote on their blog .. "Burn Up & Shine was produced by John Agnello, who's done work for The Hold Steady, which means I automatically endorse this record. Like Rilo Kiley before them, they make the guy-to-girl vocal switch seamlessly and effectively, providing a strikingly coherent album that interweaves a host of sounds and styles. Swirling indie pop with chiming guitars and upbeat melodies. Charming, really"

Nov 5 - reviews...
Here Comes the Flood .. "Burn Up & Shine is pretty near the top of this year's best indie releases"
The Devil Has the Best Tuna - "literate sun-kissed pop that's as finely crafted as a Shaker cabinet"
Kata Rokkar .. "strong and super sweet melodies"
Umbilical Chord.. "Long gone are the days where artists like the Beatles or the Eagles were able to combine meaningful lyrics and sing-a-long melodies. Gladshot, however, crafts songs rife with musicality and addictive choruses while embracing the art of songwriting"
The Frontloader .. (from Swapmeet Louie's 5 Most Played iPod Songs) 'Early Light' has a great chorus, and I found myself playing the song over and over again just to get to that payoff. It wasn't until I looked at the playcount did I realize that I listened to the song ten times in a row. That's over a half-hour of hitting 'rewind.' The rest of [Burn Up and Shine] is just as catchy, and I'm actually glad I had to leave or else I would have sat there for a much longer time, hitting 'rewind' to every song.
What to Wear During an Orange Alert .. "Debbie Andrews and Mike Blaxill make sugary pop music"
Mojophenia .. "One of New York's coolest bands ... you could take them home to your mum, she'd probably wanna adopt them"
Wonderful World of Unicycling Aardvarks .. "A fine blast of power-pop"
Music of the Moment .. "Perfect Pop!"
Metaphor .. "Gladshot gives me a happy tingling feeling inside..."
